Recently, we announced the collaboration between TDC International and GASCADE. GASCADE Gastransport GmbH, operates one of the largest natural gas infrastructures in Germany, and is working on certain trenchless sections of the European Gas Pipeline Link (EUGAL) project. The EUGAL project is expected to start flowing at the end of 2019 and will receive natural gas from the planned Nord Stream 2 and is intended to strengthen the supply of natural gas to Germany and Europe.
TDC was contracted by GASCADE to coat 376 pipes (around 7km) of DN 1400 for certain trenchless installation sections of the pipeline, with a customized pau wrap® GRP-coating specified by GASCADE. 270 of these pipes were additionally equipped with pau wrap® GRP-spacers for installation in micro-tunnels. These were all delivered on-time to GASCADE up until July 2018.
On July 10th 2019, TDC participated in the successful 1.25km Uecker River crossing in the North of Germany, installed by a.hak, a sub-contractor of GASCADE. Spacers, acting as an extra protection for the pipe, were added to ensure a distance for installation of the pipeline in the casing . In this case, TDC’s pipes were pulled through the cement casing with an HDD-Rig in order to reach its final destination. We are extremely pleased with the completion of this section of the pipeline and look forward to seeing the finalization of the project.
