The new European Gas Pipeline Link (EUGAL), which is expected to start flowing at the end of 2019, will receive natural gas from the planned Nord Stream 2. This is intended to strengthen the supply of natural gas to Germany and Europe. The aim is to have it run from the Baltic Sea through to Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, Brandenburg, southern Saxony and the border of Czech Republic, extending over a length of about 480 kilometres.
GASCADE, which operates one of the largest natural gas infrastructures in Germany, is responsible for the construction of EUGAL and its future operation. GASCADE contracted TDC to coat 376 pipes of DN 1400, (270 of which with 3 spacers each), with customized pau wrap® coating specified by GASCADE. The pipes were coated on time and will be used for selected HDD and microtunneling installation sections of the project.
